Your Wix thank-you page is your most under-used page

Guide · October 2026 · 7 min read

Think about who sees your thank-you page. Not browsers — buyers. People who picked your store, picked a product, and handed over payment. There is no warmer audience in ecommerce, and on most Wix stores the page that greets them says "Thank you for your order" and nothing else.

That's a wasted moment. Here's how to use it — from a one-line improvement you can make today to a fully automated second sale.

Why this page is different from every other page

Five blocks that earn their place, in priority order

You don't need all five. Pick the top two or three and make them good — a page that tries to do everything does nothing well.

  1. What happens next. When it ships, how it's packed, how to reach you. This is the block buyers actually came for — and it quietly cuts "where's my order?" support tickets in a way nothing else on your site does.
  2. A reorder or comeback incentive. A line like "Loved it? Use code COMEBACK10 for 10% off your next order." You'll need to create that coupon first — Stores → Coupons → New Coupon, scoped to the products you want to reward.
  3. The one-time offer. A single, well-chosen post-purchase offer — the matching product at a small discount. This is the strongest use of the page; the full playbook is in our post-purchase offers guide.
  4. Your best content. Care instructions, a how-to video, the Instagram worth following — anything that deepens the relationship while goodwill is high.
  5. The review or referral ask — last, if at all. It works better in the follow-up email a few days later, when the product has actually arrived. Asking for a review 30 seconds after payment reads as being about you, not them.

Three lines of copy you can steal

Notice what they share: specific, warm, and short. No exclamation-mark walls, no three-paragraph brand story. The shopper is holding a receipt, not reading a brochure.

How to actually edit it

  1. Open the Wix Editor on your site and switch pages — Wix Stores sites have a dedicated Thank You Page in the page list.
  2. Add a text section for the blocks you chose above. Keep the existing order-details element; buyers look for it first.
  3. Publish. Changes go live like any page edit — no relisting, no approval.

If you'd rather not touch the editor for the offer part, that's exactly what an app automates — the offer appears on the thank-you page by itself, styled like your store.

Level 2: a one-time post-purchase offer (automated)

The strongest use of the page is a single, well-chosen one-time offer: the matching product for what they just bought, at a small discount, with the code copied and ready. Done well it feels like a gift with the receipt, not an ad.

This is what post-purchase offer apps do on Wix — CartRise (which we make) is one example:

What about speed?

A fair worry — the thank-you page should stay instant. If you add an app, check what it loads and where. CartRise deliberately keeps its storefront script to a few kilobytes and does its work only on the thank-you page after checkout completes; your product pages are untouched.

What not to do

Questions people ask

Does every shopper see the Wix thank-you page?

Every shopper who completes checkout on your store lands on it — it's the page Wix serves immediately after payment. The confirmation email is separate; the page is your one guaranteed on-site moment with a buyer.

Can I edit the thank-you page in the regular Wix Editor?

Yes. Open the Wix Editor and switch pages to the Thank You page — Wix Stores sites have a dedicated one. You can add text, images, and sections like any other page, and changes go live when you publish.

How much should I put on it?

Less than you think. Pick two or three blocks from the priority list, not all five. A thank-you page crammed with asks stops feeling like a receipt and starts feeling like a leaflet.

Will adding an offer slow the page down?

Not if the app is built for it. CartRise keeps its storefront script to a few kilobytes and loads after checkout completes, working only on the thank-you page — product pages are untouched. Check what any app loads and where before installing.

Start with one improvement this week

If you do nothing else: add the "what happens next" block. If you want the second sale: set up one post-purchase offer on your best-selling product and watch what it attributes this month.
